The Tour of the Gila, a five-day bicycle race, is set to take place in Silver City from April 24th to 28th. Some of the top cyclists from the US and around the globe will be competing in this prestigious event.
The race will feature two stages of road racing for UCI men and women on the first two days. Stage three will include an individual time trial, while stage four will see a race around town. The final stage, stage five, will be the Gila Monster Road Race.
Both the UCI men’s and women’s fields will include athletes who have competed in major cycling races such as the Tour de France and Vuelta a España, as well as those who have earned Olympic berths.
In addition to the professional cyclists, there will be opportunities for amateur and citizen racers to participate in events throughout the five days. This gives individuals the chance to ride on the same roads as some of the world’s top cyclists.
