Ubisoft has announced the upcoming release of XDefiant, a first-person shooter that will be available on May 21 for Xbox Series. Originally planned for a summer 2023 release, the game faced certification issues from Sony and Microsoft, prompting a postponement. However, the development team continued to address inconsistencies in the gameplay experience, leading to further delays.
The game offers players the choice of five factions, each with unique equipment, skills, and abilities. Players can customize their loadout before the game starts and change it at any time during respawn. XDefiant features five different modes on 14 maps, with a variety of weapons and accessories.
Each faction in the game offers two active skills, a passive upgrade, and an ultra skill that requires charging. DedSec, one of the factions, is initially locked but can be accessed by completing missions. Players can equip primary and secondary weapons, as well as grenades, including submachine guns, shotguns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles.
The game modes are divided into Arena categories like Domination, Occupy, and HotShot as well as Linear modes such as Zone Control and Escort. Ubisoft has provided details on the factions
