On Tuesday, Tyner Academy students had the chance to showcase their machine learning creations at an event held in honor of World Quantum Day. Twelve students from EPB’s Future Ready Institute of Technology and Networking at Tyner Academy presented their “Friendship Detectors,” which were built using machine learning technology.
EPB’s J. Ed Marston emphasized that the utility has been a sponsor and participant in the curriculum at Tyner Academy. Their main goal is to bridge the gap between Chattanooga’s technological development and its economic growth, while ensuring there is a skilled workforce available for these jobs. Marston stressed the importance of nurturing both young and older individuals with necessary technology skills for future job opportunities in the quantum industry.
The focus of this event was on helping children develop essential technology skills that will prepare them for jobs in the quantum industry. Through educational opportunities like this showcase, students were able to apply their knowledge of machine learning and other tech-related skills in real-world scenarios. This hands-on experience helped prepare them for future job opportunities in the ever-evolving technology industry.
