On Tuesday night, three armed robberies took place in Chicago, leaving several businesses shaken and their employees injured. The first robbery occurred in the 1800-block of West 47th Street at around 9:50 p.m. Three male suspects entered a business and demanded property from an employee before grabbing money from a register and fleeing in an unknown direction.
The second robbery took place just a few minutes later, around 10:09 p.m., in the 1100-block of West 18th Street. This time, three suspects with handguns entered a business and demanded property from both employees and customers. One of the suspects struck an employee in the head with a handgun before the group fled southbound on May Street in a silver sedan. Despite being injured, the employee declined medical attention.
The third robbery took place around 10:20 p.m., at a 7-Eleven store located in the 2000-block of North Damen Avenue. Three male suspects entered the store with handguns, demanded property from an employee, grabbed money from a register, and fled south on Damen Avenue. At this time, no one is in custody in connection with any of the robberies, and police have not confirmed if they are connected to each other or to any other crimes in the area.
