Tuesday, April 14 was an exciting day for high school sports as Chapin defeated El Paso High with a score of 13-2 in softball. El Paso High’s S. Gomez and D. Villagrana had solid performances, contributing with an RBI each. Chapin pitcher Khloe Jensen had a strong outing with 2 strikeouts. Fatima Hernandez had a great game, going 2-2 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Yari Acosta and Nialani Mata also had good performances at the plate.
On the same day, Riverside came out on top against Bowie with a score of 15-3 in baseball. Ferreyra pitched a great game with 8 strikeouts, while Cervantes, Cardenas, and Ferreyra were standout hitters for Riverside. Olivas hit a home run with 2 RBIs to contribute to the victory. Meanwhile, Ysleta emerged victorious with a 17-5 win over Parkland in baseball games on the same day. Santiago Osorio pitched well, striking out 5 batters in 3 innings. Louie Lopez, Tavo Sanchez, Evan Martinez, and Daniel Terrazas all had solid performances at the plate for Ysleta in this high school sports action that highlights the talent and dedication of the student-athletes in the El Paso area.
