Vladislav Goldin has announced his decision to transfer from Florida Atlantic to Michigan, where he will play for new head coach Dusty May during his final season of college eligibility. As a key player for the Owls, Goldin has averaged 15.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. Standing at 7-foot-1, he is expected to provide low-post scoring and pick-and-roll capabilities to the Wolverines.
Goldin played three seasons under May at FAU, including a successful 2022-23 season that saw the team reach the Final Four. He began his college career at Texas Tech before transferring to FAU. Michigan lost scoring and defensive presence when Hunter Dickinson transferred to Kansas, making Goldin’s commitment all the more valuable for the Wolverines.
The move by Goldin is part of a larger effort by May to overhaul the Michigan men’s basketball program. Along with Goldin, transfers like Danny Wolf from Yale, Tre Donaldson from Auburn, Sam Walters from Alabama, Roddy Gayle Jr. from Ohio State, and Rubin Jones from North Texas have joined the team. Additionally, Michigan secured a commitment from Justin Pippen, son of basketball legend Scottie Pippen.
By committing to Michigan, Goldin has decided to withdraw his name from consideration for the 2024 NBA Draft, signaling his intention to focus on his final season of college basketball and help lead the Wolverines to success under Coach May.
