A team of Timberline School eighth graders recently returned from competing in the National Science Bowl held in the Washington, D.C. area. They earned their spot in the competition by winning at the regional level earlier in the school year. The team is made up of Krish Joshi, Neil Nallabirudu, Ishani Atluri, Adwaiyth Muthuranam, and Evan Midtlyng.
These students dedicated many months to preparing for the tournament. Ishani Atluri commented on the rigorous study schedule required for such a broad competition. She stressed the importance of hard work and the direct correlation between effort and results. The team’s coach, Julie Stevens, shared that the team finished with four wins and four losses, ultimately victorious against teams from Alaska, New York, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
Despite the losses, Stevens is incredibly proud of the team’s determination and teamwork. She noted that the students are self-motivated and eager to continue improving their skills in hopes of competing in the high school division in the future. The students also enjoyed the experience of
