Tesla recalls all Cybertrucks in the United States for repairs

Tesla has announced a recall of nearly 4,000 Cybertruck cars in the United States due to an issue with the accelerator pedal. The recall applies to all model year 2024 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13 and April 4, totaling 3,878 cars.

According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the accelerator pedal on Cybertrucks may become stuck when pressed, potentially leading to unintended acceleration and an increased risk of a crash. No crashes or injuries have been reported due to accelerator pedal failure yet, but Tesla has postponed deliveries of Cybertruck cars for some customers, though no reason was given for the delay.

The problem is believed to be caused by soap residue used as a lubricant during assembly of the pedals, which may cause the pedal cover to come off and become stuck in the upholstery around the footwell when pressed. Customers have reported problems related to the gas pedal on social media, prompting NHTSA to be in contact with Tesla to gather more information on the issue.

It is advised that customers affected by the recall contact Tesla for necessary repairs. Tesla began delivering Cybertruck vehicles to customers in late November after several delays, and it’s expected that this recall will affect practically all Cybertrucks that the company has delivered since launch.
