Armand Duplantis shatters pole vault world record for 8th time

Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis has set a new world record in the pole vault event at the first Diamond League meeting of the 2024 season in Xiamen, China. This is his eighth time breaking the world record, with his previous best being 6.23 meters. The 24-year-old showed incredible form and easily cleared the bar before celebrating his achievement with a leap off the sponge mat.

Duplantis is now gearing up for the Paris Olympics later in the year and is considered a strong favorite heading into the Games.
