In recent news, Stefon Diggs has addressed speculation about his importance to Josh Allen’s success on social media. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Buffalo Bills have traded Diggs to the Houston Texans. In exchange for Diggs, Buffalo will receive a 2025 second-round pick from Minnesota, while Houston will acquire Diggs along with a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick. This trade will result in a $31 million dead cap charge for the Bills in 2024, as Diggs is under contract with the team until 2027.

Selected in the fifth round of the 2015 draft, Diggs spent his first five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before joining the Bills in 2020. In his first season with Buffalo, he led the league in receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535). Despite a slight decline in production in 2023, Diggs still managed to record over 100 catches (107) and 1,000 yards (1,183) for the fourth consecutive year. He has achieved over 1,000 receiving yards for the past six seasons.

With the Bills deciding to part ways with Diggs, the Texans will welcome him as a valuable addition to their team, providing young quarterback C.J. Stroud with another strong offensive weapon. Throughout his career, Diggs has amassed 810 receptions for 9,995 yards and 67 touchdowns in 136 games.
