In the Memphis area high school spring sports scene, Week 10 of the 2024 season saw several standout performers. In baseball, Caleb Lassiter of Briarcrest made a significant contribution to his team’s victory over CBHS in Game 1. Lassiter got the save in a hard-fought 3-2 win, while Aidan McCrady was named the winning pitcher after allowing four hits and striking out seven in 6.2 innings. Ty Holman of CBHS also had a solid performance, allowing only two hits in six innings pitched. Meanwhile, Hank Stalnaker of CBHS also managed to get on base twice with two hits.
In softball, Arlington’s Breleigh Bunker was a force to be reckoned with in their victory over Collierville. Bunker went 2-for-4 and scored two runs while also contributing two RBIs to her team’s offense. Brittanie Layton was named the winning pitcher for Arlington, while Grace Pentecost also had a strong showing by going 2-for-4 and scoring two runs as well. Brighton’s Aliya Garcia also had a solid game, hitting twice and scoring one run. Laney Lawson of Brighton pitched the entire game and scattered six hits while Adin Shelton hit a home run for his team. Finally, Bradleigh Biggs of ECS hit an impressive 2-for-4 with three runs scored in their win over Trinity Christian Academy. Lily Beth Carpenter, Robin Daughhetee, Julianna Lewis, Natalie Regel, and Neely Wilder also made significant contributions to ECS’s offense during the game.
