Woodbridge High School’s swim teams made a big splash at the Spring Meet of Champions at Mt. SAC in Walnut, with the girls team claiming first place and the boys team taking third in their divisions. Coach James Hickson commended the combined efforts of both teams, leading to an overall victory for Woodbridge High. Senior Zara Masud stood out for the girls, winning the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, earning her the title of Swimmer of the Meet. Meanwhile, senior Jacob Wang was the top performer for the boys, securing first place in the 50-yard freestyle.
On the other hand, Cozy Zimmerman from Irvine High School is committed to playing beach volleyball for Concordia University Irvine. With an illustrious career in indoor volleyball that helped Irvine secure a Pacific Coast League crown, Cozy transitioned to beach volleyball three years ago. She was part of Concordia’s inaugural team and recently completed their first season. Coached by her mother Holiday, who also coaches Irvine High’s beach volleyball team, Cozy has been playing volleyball for seven years.
Northwood High School’s baseball team is brimming with high hopes for their current season in the Pacific Coast League against Beckman. The team attributes its success to outstanding starting pitching from players like Paul Grossman and Casey Euper, timely hitting from junior Carter Liu and solid defense. Both Grossman and Euper have made commitments to prestigious universities signaling a promising future for the team as they continue their journey through CIF playoffs. With high hopes for a title win, Grossman believes they have a good shot if they maintain their current level of play.
