11% Increase in Hotel Guests in Sharjah During 2023, Reaching 1.5 Million

In 2023, Sharjah welcomed over 1.5 million hotel guests, marking an 11% increase from the previous year. The emirate has established itself as a leading tourist destination, thanks to its sustainable development of tourism and global appeal. The most significant increase in guests came from Russia and the Baltic countries, followed by Gulf countries, Australia, and Pacific countries.

During a press conference at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 in Dubai, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority highlighted key components of the tourism sector in the emirate. They unveiled details of projects such as the Al Badayer Development and Organization project and the Mleiha National Park. These initiatives aim to enhance Sharjah’s tourism offerings while accommodating the growing number of guests. The Authority emphasized Sharjah’s commitment to opening world-class tourism projects that demonstrate its dedication to sustainable growth in the sector.

In addition to these projects, Sharjah has over 100 hotels offering more than 10,000 rooms. The Authority continuously works on developing services and facilities to support expected increases in guest numbers.
