On Thursday, a murder-suicide attempt took place in Santa Ana that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The victims have been identified as Jordan Block, 25, and Brian Martin, 64.
According to authorities, Block had arrived at her uncle’s unit in the business complex to visit him when her boyfriend also showed up. The niece called 911 to report that her boyfriend had stabbed her and her uncle. Despite police arriving quickly, the victims were already deceased when they arrived on the scene.
The woman who rented a unit inside the complex described Martin as a friendly and conscientious individual. In addition to being approachable, Martin also taught women’s self-defense classes and was known for his collection of ancient swords. One of his swords was found bloodied outside the garage.
Inside the unit, officers discovered Jordan’s boyfriend with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was in critical condition as of Friday afternoon. The motivation behind the attack is still being investigated by authorities.
