Duke Johnson declares his retirement from professional football

NFL running back Duke Johnson announced his retirement on Sunday, taking to social media to reflect on his journey. Despite humble beginnings, Johnson went on to become the all-time leading rusher at the University of Miami and was selected by the Browns in the third round of the 2015 draft.

During his time in Cleveland, Johnson showcased his skills by running 299 times for 1,286 yards and five touchdowns. He also proved to be a valuable asset in the passing game, accumulating 235 catches for 2,170 yards and eight scores. In 2019, Johnson was traded to the Texans and spent two seasons in Houston before returning to Miami to play for the Dolphins in 2021. Despite a brief stint with the Bills in 2022, Johnson’s career stats speak for themselves – with 532 carries for 2,265 yards and 311 catches for 2,870 yards.
