Chasity Nunez, a dedicated and passionate member of the MIT community, passed away on March 5 at the age of 27. Known as “Chas” to those who knew her, she served as the patient safety and clinical quality program coordinator at MIT Health. Nunez played a vital role in maintaining high safety standards at MIT Health by training staff on reporting procedures and best practices for patient safety.
Nunez was also an accomplished learner who was pursuing her second master’s degree in informatics while holding her role at MIT Health. She enjoyed being challenged and collaborating with colleagues, leaving a lasting impact on those around her. Nunez was deeply dedicated to her work, beloved by her colleagues, and made a powerful impact on the patients she served.
In addition to her work at MIT Health, Nunez also served in the U.S. Army National Guard as an IT support specialist in Connecticut. She was always looking for ways to improve herself and was eager to learn and grow professionally. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
