In Redford Township, Athletico Physical was hit by a truck that caused significant damage to the building. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Witnesses described the truck as speeding down Telegraph Road before leaving the road and crashing into the building after hitting a power pole.
Paris Edwards, who was inside the building at the time of the crash, recalled hearing a loud noise before seeing the truck smash into the building. She and her coworkers were on the other side of the building and managed to avoid injury. The driver tried to flee but was stopped by a worker until police arrived on scene. It is unclear whether the driver received medical attention or was taken into custody.
The road was closed temporarily while DTE crews worked to remove the broken power pole. However, it has since reopened. Athletico Physical will remain closed temporarily as investigators work to determine what caused the accident. Despite extensive damage, there were no reported injuries at Athletico Physical in Redford Township.
