In recent news, Real Madrid City hosted a delegation from Namibia to discuss the upcoming football clinics that will be held in the country this year. The delegation was led by Agnes Tjongarero, Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service; Albertus Aochamub, Namibian Ambassador to France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Morocco; and José Luis Reyero, President of Cadilu Fishing.
The purpose of their visit was to present the program of educational football clinics that will be held in Namibia this year. These clinics are scheduled to take place in four different towns: Keetmanshoop and Gobabis from May 13 to 24, and Opuwo and Eenhana from October 7 to 18. This program is now in its second year and is expected to involve over 1,000 children. Funding for the clinics will be provided by Cadilu Fishing, with support from the Ministries of Sport and Education, as well as the Spanish Embassy in Namibia.
Two coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation will travel to Namibia to work with the young participants, providing them with a unique football experience and teaching valuable values through the Foundation’s educational methodology. The ongoing support from the Ministry of Sports and the Spanish Embassy has helped establish these clinics as a recurring program. Further plans include the opening of an Educational Football Programme in September, supported by Cadilu Fishing, to continue promoting sport and education in the country. The proceeds from these activities will benefit socio-sports projects that Real Madrid Foundation operates in the region for children at risk of exclusion.
Overall, this partnership between Real Madrid City and Namibia is working together towards promoting sport education among children while also benefiting local communities through various socio-sports projects
