Muncy emerged victorious in a dominant 13-0 win over Bucktail, thanks to the stellar play of senior pitcher Nolah Moyer and catcher Taylor Shannon. Moyer, a Division I St. Bonaventure commit, led the charge with a one-hit shutout, going 3 for 3 at the plate and homering twice to drive in five runs. Shannon also had a standout performance, hitting two home runs and five RBIs.
Moyer quickly put Muncy on the board with a two-run home run in the first inning, adding two more RBIs with a bases loaded single in the second inning to extend Muncy’s lead to 5-0. Shannon then hit a three-run home run to make it 8-0. Both players finished with five RBIs each as Muncy cruised to victory.
While Bucktail’s Gianna Balchun broke up Moyer’s no-hit bid in the fifth inning with a hit, it was not enough to stop Muncy from winning another league title. Bucktail will head into their final week of the regular season preparing for a matchup with Jersey Shore, while Muncy remains undefeated and will face Mifflinburg next game.
Kaylyn Rice and Casey Fry contributed with doubles for Bucktail, with Rice driving in one run and Fry scoring three times. The final score was Muncy 13, Bucktail 0 in just five innings. Moyer picked up the win on the mound while Wagner took the loss for Bucktail.
