On Easter Sunday, a shooting outside a sports bar in St. Petersburg left four individuals injured. The victims have no prior acquaintance with the assailants and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Authorities have made multiple arrests in connection to the incident, including three suspects who were found in Manatee County.
During a press conference, Police Chief Anthony Holloway revealed that Kevontre Wesby, Keith Wesby, and Christopher Atkins were apprehended by authorities. Two more suspects are expected to be arrested following the investigation that took place last weekend. The shooting incident resulted in damage to six vehicles and over 60 shell casings were recovered from the scene.
The Young Gangsters group, or YGs, is believed to be responsible for the shooting incident. They have close affiliations with rapper Rodarius Green, also known as “Rod Wave,” who resides in properties registered under his name. Significant evidence was discovered during searches of these residences, including firearms, ammunition, cash amounting to over $10,000, and jewelry.
Chief Holloway emphasized that all four victims are expected to recover from their injuries. The three suspects apprehended thus far are facing charges of attempted second-degree murder, with Kevontre Wesby facing additional charges of possessing a concealed firearm and being in possession of a firearm while being a delinquent. The remaining two suspects have not yet been identified.
