The UK has launched an investigation into OnlyFans, a subscription platform that allows creators to monetize their content, including sexual material. The investigation aims to determine if the platform is effectively preventing minors from accessing pornographic content.
The company, based in London, faced a temporary ban in 2021 due to concerns about age verification measures. The UK’s Office of Communications (Ofcom) announced that it will be investigating the age verification measures implemented by OnlyFans to prevent minors from accessing inappropriate content. Ofcom stated that OnlyFans did not provide complete and accurate information in response to their legal requests, leading to the decision to launch an investigation.
The aim is to determine whether OnlyFans is taking sufficient measures to prevent children from accessing pornographic material on the platform.
