A report by Verizon found that three out of every four Latino adults communicate with their maternal figure at least once a week, showing a strong bond with their mothers. Electronics, such as phones and smartwatches, have surpassed jewelry and clothing as popular gifts for Latina mothers, with flowers remaining the top gift choice for this demographic.

According to a study carried out by Morning Consult, 40% of Latina mothers in the USA prefer cell phones or Smart Watches as gifts for Mother’s Day, which is double the preference of the rest of Americans. This trend highlights the importance of technology in connecting families and staying connected with loved ones.

Latina mothers are more likely to put off purchasing new smartphone models due to their need for fast data networks. This makes them a target for promotions and offers from phone companies like Verizon during Mother’s Day. The vice president of Local and Segment Marketing at Verizon, Robyn Parks emphasizes the importance of technology in connecting mothers with their loved ones, offering families the ability to choose the technology and services that are most important to them.

Additionally, Hispanics in the US tend to pay more tribute to maternal figures on Mother’s Day compared to Americans in general. The survey conducted by Verizon included national samples of Americans, Latinos in the US, and American Latina mothers and caregivers. This shows how important it is for phone companies like Verizon to understand and cater to specific communities on special occasions like Mother’s Day.
