After a successful eight-day run, the Jazz Fest grounds in New Orleans are now being dismantled by dozens of workers. The festival featured headliners like the Rolling Stones and experienced minimal rain, resulting in 97% of the city’s hotel rooms being occupied and close to half a million attendees.
Renowned Jazz Fest poster artist, Terrance Osborne, expressed that this year was one of the best for selling his signature art at the festival. He enjoyed the pleasant weather with some clouds providing relief from the scorching heat.
Vendors are currently dismantling their temporary but profitable stands on the Fair Grounds infield. Despite the challenges of getting outbound flights, many visitors decided to extend their stay in New Orleans. The economic impact of the festival is estimated to be around $400 million, with tourists shopping in the French Quarter and supporting local businesses.
Osborne shared that the only way the Jazz Fest could be better for him is if he could attend without having to work at his art booth. Nevertheless, he plans to participate again next year along with loyal customers who promise to return, even if the Rolling Stones are not part of the lineup.
