Vice President Kamala Harris has announced new regulations for federally funded nursing homes, aimed at improving the quality of care provided. The Biden Administration is making these changes to enhance the care received by patients in these facilities.

Meanwhile, representatives from Erie’s three largest health systems are set to participate in a healthcare job fair on Monday. The Healthcare Career Expo will take place at the Bayfront Convention Center from 2-7 p.m. and will feature discussions on available healthcare positions in Erie, including opportunities for licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, therapists, dietitians, radiology technicians, counselors, and social workers.

The job fair is organized by the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and will include UPMC Hamot and Saint Vincent Hospital, along with around 30 other local healthcare employers. Attendees will have the chance to speak with professionals about finance, real estate, and insurance as well. The job fair is free to attend and will offer refreshments and raffles for participants.
