Ann Arbor and Ann Arbor SPARK have joined forces to launch the Ann Arbor Green Business Challenge (A2 GBC), a new initiative aimed at encouraging sustainability efforts within the local business community. The A2 GBC is more than just a certification program; it’s a movement to create a greener and more sustainable future for businesses in the area.
During the launch event, held on Tuesday, speakers such as Rodger Bowser from Zingerman’s Delicatessen, Yahang Zhang from RRS, and Heidi Poscher from 4th Purpose Energy shared information with interested businesses about the program’s seven key categories that promote sustainability: Energy, Circular Economy, Water, Resilience, Supply Chain, Education, and Mobility.
By implementing sustainable practices across these categories, businesses can earn points towards different certification levels including bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. From reducing energy consumption to supporting upcycling initiatives
