The Indianapolis Colts announced on Thursday that they have signed five of their draftees, including highly-touted defensive tackle Jonah Laulu. Among the other signings were Laiatu Latu, Jaylon Carlies, Jaylin Simpson, and Micah Abraham. These players are now officially under contract with the Colts.
Laulu was the 15th overall selection in the draft and had an impressive collegiate career at UCLA and Washington. During his time in college, he amassed 101 tackles, 35.5 tackles for loss, 24 sacks, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, six passes defensed, and two interceptions. His signing adds depth and talent to the Colts’ defensive line.
In addition to the draftees, the Colts also secured the signings of seven undrafted free agents. This group includes quarterback/wide receiver Jason Bean, running back Trent Pennix, kicker Spencer Shrader, quarterback Kedon Slovis, guard Dalton Tucker, wide receiver Xavier White, and linebacker Craig Young. These players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills at the rookie minicamp alongside the draftees as they look to earn a spot on the Colts’ roster.
