State SkillsUSA Competition: NCMC Team Takes First Place in Robotic Automation Technology

North Central Missouri College’s robotics automation technology team, consisting of Zachary Walker and Keaton Pettlon from Maryville, recently emerged victorious in the Missouri SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Technology Competition held at State Tech in Linn. The team secured first place in the competition and earned a spot to compete at the National SkillsUSA conference in Atlanta, GA, from June 24-28.

Pettlon and Walker showcased their exceptional skills by completing their contest skill challenge in record time, becoming the only team to successfully complete their task. Rick Sharp, an instructor at NCMC specializing in industrial technology, guided the team and commended them for their strong performance. He stated that they have the potential to excel at the national level as strong competitors.

With their success in the Missouri SkillsUSA competition, Pettlon and Walker will now be competing among the top two percent of the nation in the Robotics Automation Technology contest. Sharp expressed confidence in their abilities and is optimistic about their prospects at the upcoming national conference.
