A close call for a couple in Hamburg occurred when their new Jaguar was involved in an accident. The driver, a 26-year-old woman, lost control of the car while making a left turn from a gas station onto the main road. The car veered into oncoming traffic and crashed onto the sidewalk before ending up on the railway tracks. Fortunately, both occupants were unharmed.
The incident was not the first at that location, with a similar accident happening in the past. As a freight train approached, the locomotive driver was able to stop just 50 meters from the accident scene. The fire department and police had to remove a demolished fence and use a Unimog to pull the car off the tracks. The road had to be closed for an hour for rescue work and investigation.
This accident serves as a reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and staying alert on the road to avoid such close calls in the future. The Federal Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident, but it is clear that this incident could have ended much differently if it were not for the quick thinking and actions of those involved.
