Montgomery ISD recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for its $80 million career and technical education (CTE) and agricultural science centers on April 26. The new centers will be located along Lone Star Parkway between Buffalo Springs and Pleasant Morgan drives and will measure a combined 189,000 square feet once completed. MISD administrators and school board members were in attendance at the groundbreaking event, where they shared their excitement for the new facilities.
The construction work on the CTE and ag science centers began in mid-November, with preconstruction activities commencing. The district’s school board approved the guaranteed maximum price of $65.3 million for construction costs on January 23, with the total cost estimated to be $80 million. The Montgomery City Council also agreed to contribute up to one-third of the cost for waterline upgrades needed for the project during its meeting on March 26.
