Milwaukee is preparing for the upcoming Republican National Convention, which will be held in just 70 days. The event is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors, and businesses in the area are concerned about how to navigate their operations and prepare for the influx of people. To address these concerns, the Secret Service and the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee recently held a ‘Coffee and Conversation’ event for business owners.
During the event, Alison Prange, the Chief Operating Officer for the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee, emphasized the importance of businesses reaching out for assistance. She noted that the Secret Service is committed to working with businesses to ensure smooth operations, including facilitating deliveries to restricted areas. Businesses were encouraged to direct specific questions to the Host Committee, as more information about security measures will be released by the Secret Service in June.
The Host Committee also announced that two additional ‘Coffee and Conversation’ events are scheduled for May 13 and May 20 at different locations in Milwaukee for businesses to attend and address any further concerns they may have. For businesses located within the impacted security zone who have questions or require assistance, the Host Committee is available to provide guidance and support.
