At the Hyundai Archery World Cup season opener in Shanghai, Mexican archer Andrea Becerra had an outstanding performance. She scored a remarkable 713 points in the 50-meter qualifying round, securing her a top seed position. This was a significant achievement for Andrea, as it was her first time achieving such a high qualifier status since her international debut in 2018.
Andrea expressed her pride in the strength of the Mexican team and their prospects in the World Cup Final. The tournament is being held in Tlaxcala for the third consecutive year, and Andrea is determined to secure her spot at the top of the qualifying round. Despite consistently strong match results throughout her career, she had never achieved a high qualifier status until now.
During the qualifying round in Shanghai, Andrea came close to breaking the world record but missed out due to a minor error on her final shot. She noticed that some of her shots were just on the edge of the target, missing out on full points. In fact, during a previous World Cup held two years ago in Tlaxcala, where she finished fourth as a host nation invitee, she realized that with more practice and dedication to perfecting her technique, she could achieve even greater success at this level.
Andrea’s ultimate goal is to earn a place at the prestigious Hyundai Archery World Cup through her exceptional archery skills and dedication to the sport. As she continues to work hard and refine her technique, she is confident that she will be able to achieve this goal and become one of Mexico’s top archers on an international stage.
The World Cup Final is scheduled to take place from October 14th to October 17th in Tlaxcala City Stadium Complex in Mexico City where we can expect some intense competition among archers from different countries around the globe.
