This year, the MetroHealth System’s Men’s Health Fair is expanding to two locations on Saturday, providing attendees with a range of free health screenings, education, and career resources. The fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alex B. Johnson Center at the Cuyahoga Community College Metropolitan Campus, as well as at MetroHealth’s Cleveland Heights Medical Center. Registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome, and shuttle services will be available from various locations in Cleveland.
Last year’s fair revealed concerning statistics with high percentages of attendees showing signs of health issues like high cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as abnormal PSA levels indicating an elevated risk of prostate cancer. Those identified with potential health concerns were able to connect with a MetroHealth provider for follow-up care.
Dr. Charles Modlin, a urologist and MetroHealth’s vice president and chief health equity officer, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and recognizing that everyone deserves the opportunity for a long and healthy life. The Men’s Health Fair aims to make a positive impact on the lives of participants and ultimately save lives through early detection and intervention.
Attendees can expect a wide range of health screenings and education on topics such as cholesterol, diabetes, heart health, and more. The fair will also provide career resources such as resume building workshops and job search strategies.
The Men’s Health Fair is an important event that promotes healthy living among men in the community. By attending this event, men can learn about their own personal health risks and receive valuable resources to help them live their best lives possible.
