The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has recently approved a 30-year lease for Mayo Clinic Health System to occupy integrated research workspace in the new Science and Health Sciences Building. This collaboration between the two organizations is expected to enhance research opportunities and academic programs for both parties. The Mayo Clinic Health System will have 10,000 square feet of research, instructional, office, and meeting space in the building.
Construction of the $340.3 million state-of-the-art Science and Health Sciences Building is set to begin this summer. The 330,000-square-foot building will replace the outdated Phillips Hall and provide space for multiple academic programs including biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, geography and anthropology, geology and environmental science, public health and environmental studies, neuroscience, materials science and biomedical engineering, physics and astronomy, and nursing.
The new Science and Health Sciences Building will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration in the field of healthcare and research. The Mayo Clinic Health System has committed $13.7 million to the project which will be integrated into the UW-Eau Claire faculty and student spaces across all five floors of the building. This partnership is expected to bring new opportunities for researchers to collaborate on projects that focus on healthcare innovation
