Massacre in Ecuador: 7 Dead, Including Minors, in Tragic Armed Attack

Nobol is located about 42 kilometers from Guayaquil, a city known for being a crime epicenter with ties to drug trafficking cartels.

The homicide rate in Ecuador has increased significantly in recent years with a record 43 murders per 100,000 inhabitants in 2023. In response to escalating violence, President Daniel Noboa declared the nation to be in a state of internal armed conflict following a violent attack by criminal gangs that resulted in twenty deaths in January.
