Students from Los Alamos Public Schools excelled at the 2024 New Mexico State Science and Engineering Fair held at New Mexico Tech in Socorro. A total of 19 students from the school district proudly represented their school and showcased their scientific talents.
Among the participants, Helena Welch and Tate Plohr stood out and qualified to represent Los Alamos Public Schools at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Los Angeles, CA in May.
Several students from Los Alamos Public Schools received awards across various categories in both the Junior and Senior Divisions. In the Junior Division, students received accolades in categories such as Animal Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics & Astronomy, and Systems & Software. Special recognition was also given to outstanding achievers.
In the Senior Division, Los Alamos High School students shone with awards in Mathematics and Physics & Astronomy categories. Additionally, special awards were presented for their contributions to areas such as Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction.
Overall, students from Los Alamos Public Schools performed exceptionally well at the science fair, demonstrating their passion for scientific inquiry and dedication to excellence. Congratulations to all who participated and received recognition for their hard work!
