The Dallas Cowboys have announced the signing of linebacker Damien Wilson to their roster, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. This comes after Wilson had not been in the league for most of the previous season, but he signed with the Cowboys’ practice squad on January 3. He had served a four-game suspension for violating the Personal Conduct Policy.
Wilson’s last appearance in a game was in Week 18 of the 2022 season with the Panthers. Originally drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round in 2015, Wilson spent his first four seasons in Dallas before playing for Kansas City, Jacksonville, and Carolina.
The Cowboys made this move after drafting Marist Liufau in the third round and realizing they needed depth at the linebacker position. With Wilson’s addition to their roster, he becomes the fourth outside free agent that the Cowboys have brought on board this offseason, joining Ezekiel Elliott, Eric Kendricks, and Royce Freeman.
