Lamborghini unveiled its latest offering, the Urus SE, at the Volkswagen Group Media Night on April 24 before making its world public debut at the Auto China Beijing 2024 motor show. The Urus SE is a new generation of luxury super SUV that boasts a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrain. This innovative vehicle features a new design, optimized aerodynamics, cutting-edge onboard technologies, and a hybrid powertrain that delivers an impressive 800 CV output. The Urus SE sets a new benchmark in the segment for comfort, performance, efficiency, emissions, and driving pleasure.
In addition to the Urus SE, Lamborghini is also showcasing two other vehicles at the Auto China Beijing show – Revuelto and Huracán Tecnica. The Revuelto is the first super sports V12 hybrid HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle), while the Huracán Tecnica is a rear-wheel drive super sports car powered by a V10 engine. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini expressed his excitement about presenting these latest achievements at such an important event in the automotive industry.
Winkelmann reflected on Lamborghini’s history in Beijing, mentioning that twelve years ago he presented the Urus concept car at the same event which ultimately led to the creation of a new segment of super sports SUVs. The Urus has since become one of Lamborghini’s most successful models and serves as the brand’s third pillar in its lineup. Winkelmann emphasized that this new chapter represents Lamborghini’s success story and marks significant steps towards electrification under their plan called ‘Direzione Cor Tauri.’
