The final home game of the regular season saw Battle face off against Kirksville. The first half was quiet, with both teams failing to score until halftime. However, Kirksville came out strong in the second half, scoring two quick goals within eight minutes and setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Tigers’ Lauren Albright dominated the field and scored two goals early on. Meanwhile, Kirksville maintained possession of the ball and took advantage of a Battle defensive error, with Lucy Tiedemann scoring a goal to extend their lead to 3-0. Tiedemann continued to impress, scoring back-to-back goals that brought the Tigers’ lead to 4-0. Battle’s goalie made some impressive saves that temporarily halted Kirksville’s momentum.

Kirksville didn’t slow down and scored another goal with ten minutes left in the game, leading Battle 7-0. This marked Battle’s 15th consecutive loss and set Kirksville up for their upcoming Class 2 District 8 Tournament against Chillicothe. On the other hand, Battle will compete in the Class 4 District 6 Tournament against Blue Springs South.
