The Kentucky Chamber has released a comprehensive summary of the 2024 Kentucky General Assembly and its implications for businesses. Titled “Results for Business,” the publication includes detailed information on bills, priority legislation that was passed, a legislative voting record, and more.
This year’s session was marked by several significant accomplishments. Thanks to the Chamber’s advocacy efforts, Kentucky employers saw $1.006 billion in savings, resulting in $589 per employee in the state. Lawmakers also made substantial investments in the Commonwealth’s future through the biennial budget, funding priorities such as child care, education, economic development, infrastructure, and more.
In addition to these budget investments, the Chamber successfully advocated for various priorities, including voluntary paid leave insurance, removing barriers to opening new child care centers, establishing a data privacy framework, authorizing autonomous vehicles and expanding the signature bourbon industry. Notably, the General Assembly did not pass new sales taxes on business purchases – a top priority for the Chamber.
