Jefferson City and Blair Oaks both had successful games on their home fields on Tuesday night. While the Jays faced a close game against Tolton, securing a thrilling victory with a final score of 19-18, the Falcons dominated Hallsville with a final score of 11-1 in just five innings.
Jefferson City trailed Tolton 8-2 early on, but came back strong in the third inning by scoring seven runs to take the lead at 9-8. The teams went back and forth in scoring until the bottom of the sixth inning, where the game saw its first scoreless half. Despite Tolton briefly taking a 13-9 lead, including a run scored on a steal of home, Jefferson City remained unfazed and ultimately won the game 19-18.
Blair Oaks took control from the start, quickly responding to falling behind 1-0 in the second inning by scoring six runs to take a comfortable 6-1 lead. They continued to dominate and only needed five innings to secure victory over Hallsville with a final score of 11-1.
Both teams have busy schedules ahead, with Jefferson City facing Troy Buchanan on Saturday and Tolton playing Southern Boone on Thursday. Blair Oaks will play Rolla on Wednesday, while Hallsville will participate in the Class 4 District 8 Tournament against Centralia next Monday.
