India has announced their 15-man squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, led by Rohit Sharma. The team includes new additions such as Shivam Dube, Rishabh Pant, and Sanju Samson. Legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal has also made a comeback to the squad based on his impressive form in the IPL.
The spin options for this squad include Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel, with Chahal joining the lineup. The pace attack includes specialists like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh, with Hardik Pandya and Dube providing seam-bowling options.
Both Rohit and Virat Kohli did not play any T20 internationals after the 2022 T20 World Cup until they were selected for the series at home against Afghanistan in January 2024. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been chosen as Rohit’s opening partner, while Shubman Gill is among the four reserve players along with Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan.
