In the near future, preparations for Operation Rafah in the southern region of Gaza Strip will be carried out by Israeli forces. According to a senior Israeli security official, the Israeli army is fully prepared to launch the operation and is currently waiting for political approval to proceed.
The ground offensive in Rafah will be executed in phases, with each phase dividing the city into defined areas. Prior to entering each area, the army (IDF) will inform the local population so that civilians can evacuate their shelters and homes in a timely manner. This plan has been presented to American officials and other regional agencies.
In preparation for this mission, two brigades of reservists have been mobilized to return to southern Gaza and continue their defense and attack duties under the command of the 99th Division. Additionally, two reserve brigades are being relocated from northern Israel to the Lebanon border.
Despite opposition from some regional powers, including Egypt, Israel has approved its latest plan for Operation Rafah. While some have raised concerns about protecting civilians during the operation, Israeli officials maintain that entering Rafah is necessary in order to complete their mission and potentially address issues related to hostages.
