The Bismarck Bobcats, UND Fighting Hawks, and Fargo Force joined forces to raise $24,000 for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation. The funds raised will be used to support a program called Sources of Strength, which aims to spread mental health research and curriculum in rural areas of the state.
The money will go towards four school districts in the northeastern corner of North Dakota, enabling them to implement mental health services and curriculum. Amber Blomberg, the executive director of the BCBSND Caring Foundation, emphasized the importance of providing tools for both youth and adults to successfully navigate life’s challenges.
Sources of Strength will teach students that everyone faces challenges and will provide them with strategies to cope effectively. By promoting mental health awareness and education, the program aims to empower individuals to overcome adversity and build resilience.
