Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced movie mogul, is currently in a hospital in New York after being admitted due to various health issues. His lawyer Arthur Aidala announced that Weinstein is at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan where he is receiving medical attention. Despite the circumstances, Aidala stated that Weinstein is in good spirits and satisfied with the care he is receiving.
Weinstein’s health problems have been well-documented, including heart ailments, diabetes, sleep apnea, and eye problems among other issues. In response to his 16-year prison sentence imposed by a Los Angeles judge, Weinstein’s representative Juda Engelmayer argued that it was cruel given his age and health condition, as he may not be able to serve it. However, this conviction was later overturned by an appeals court in New York.
The ‘Me Too’ movement against Harvey Weinstein gained traction in 2017 as a platform for individuals to speak out against incidents of sexual assault and harassment, particularly in work settings. Prominent figures like Alyssa Milano, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rose McGowan, and Ashley Judd were among the first to publicly accuse Weinstein of misconduct. The movement shedding light on the prevalence of such behavior and paving the way for change.
