Thirteen years ago, Sharon visited Choctaw Nation Headquarters in search of job opportunities. Despite owning a family business with her husband, Sharon never gave up on her dream of serving her tribe. She eventually landed a job in the Finance Division, which was made possible by Connie Zalenski, whom she deeply appreciates for the opportunity and encouragement.

Years later, Sharon’s role at Choctaw Nation has evolved, and she now works in tribal advocacy. She assists Choctaw tribal members in finding employment, educational resources, training, mock interviews, and interview attire through her job in the Recruitment Department. Sharon finds fulfillment in helping individuals who share her aspiration of working for the tribe realize their dreams.

Sharon believes in the abundance of resources available to Choctaw Nation members and encourages them not to underestimate their abilities. She emphasizes the support system in place to help individuals succeed and achieve their goals within the tribe. Her passion for tribal advocacy shines through her work as she remains dedicated to empowering Choctaw tribal members to reach their full potential.

As Sharon reflects on her journey at Choctaw Nation Headquarters, she is grateful for the opportunities that have come her way and hopes that others will follow in her footsteps to serve their tribes with pride and passion.
