France’s Cascarino most current star to miss Women’s Globe Cup

France’s Delphine Cascarino will miss the Globe Cup soon after her club Lyon stated on Thursday that she would be sidelined for “many months” soon after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament.

Cascarino, who has created 56 appearances for France, ruptured her suitable ACL in a league win more than Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

“[Cascarino] underwent tests in midweek, which … revealed a partial rupture of the suitable anterior cruciate ligament,” Lyon stated in a statement. The French club added that the winger will want to undergo reconstructive surgery and will be out “for many months”.

“Sadly, I will not be in a position to take element in the Globe Cup this summer time with my group mates, whom I will be supporting from right here,” Cascarino stated on Instagram.

France, who are also without the need of Marie-Antoinette Katoto, will be seeking to win their maiden Globe Cup at this year’s showpiece occasion, which is getting co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia from July 20-Aug. 20.

They commence their campaign in Group F against Jamaica on July 23 ahead of facing Brazil and Panama.

France are not the only group to be hit by important injuries ahead of the Globe Cup.

The U.S. women’s national group, winners of the final two Globe Cups, will be without the need of forwards Mallory Swanson and Catarina Macario due to knee injuries.

European champions England, meanwhile, will absolutely be missing captain Leah Williamson and forward Fran Kirby when Euro 2022 player of the tournament Beth Mead is also unlikely to be match soon after injuring her ACL final December.
