Oklahoma has welcomed a new addition to its roster. Former Oregon State standout Raegan Beers has announced her decision to transfer to the Sooners. Beers, a junior forward, made the announcement on social media on Monday. Last season, Beers excelled on the court for the Beavers, averaging 17.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting an impressive 66.4 percent from the field.
During her time at Oregon State, Beers received several accolades, including Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Sixth Person of the Year honors. She was named to the conference’s All-Freshman team and recognized as a third-team All-American by the Associated Press in her sophomore year.
Following Oregon State’s move to the WCC in a two-year affiliate membership, Beers made the decision to transfer to Oklahoma. In a statement posted online, Beers expressed her excitement for the next chapter in her basketball career with the Sooners.
Beers emphasized hard work and competition as qualities she sees reflected in Oklahoma’s program. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, she joins a talented roster led by head coach Jennie Baranczyk, who has guided the team to consecutive Big 12 titles and three straight NCAA tournament appearances.
Joining a squad that includes standout players like Skylar Vann, Payton Verhulst, and Sahara Williams, Beers looks forward to contributing to Oklahoma’s success in the highly competitive SEC. With her skills and experience, she is poised to make a significant impact for the Sooners as they navigate challenges playing against top-tier competition in their new conference.
