Alyshia Meyers, a forensic scientist with seven years of experience, spoke at the Portage Public Library this afternoon for an event called All About Forensics Science. The program was part of the Library’s Community STEM Cafe and was made possible by a mini grant from the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8. Families and individuals attended the event to learn more about Forensic Science and its importance in today’s society.
Meyers emphasized the importance of getting kids interested in science at a young age, stating that the STEM field is always growing. She believes that by sparking their interest early on, it sets them up for success in the future. Meyers shared her knowledge and passion for the field with the audience at the event.
