Museum of Discovery and Science’s Sensory-Friendly Sunday

The Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) is offering a special experience for individuals on the autism spectrum. Sensory-friendly Sundays allow visitors to explore the museum’s exhibits in a modified environment with lights turned up and sound lowered. The theater experience is also sensory-sensitive, with films presented in 2D without trailers and an invitation for audience members to freely move, sing, walk, dance, and shout.

Families can bring snacks, blankets, and small items for comfort while engaging in a variety of sensory-based activities throughout the museum. This includes dynamic science exhibits, an outdoor science park, a live animal collection, science shows, learning labs, cafe, store, and a grand atrium with the Great Gravity Clock – a 52-foot-tall kinetic energy sculpture.

Sponsored by ABA Centers of Florida and Fifth Third Bank, Sensory-Friendly Sundays are free for both members and non-members. To register for this event visit mods.org/sensorysunday or contact (954) 467-MODS (6637).
