The Kentucky Science Center in Louisville will be hosting a special event in honor of the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The center, which spans 50,000 square feet, will offer a range of activities that are free with admission. Guests can expect educational programs about the eclipse, viewing safety, gravity, cultural interpretations of eclipses and constellations, as well as the opportunity to view the partial eclipse.
During the event, guests can participate in activities such as creating pinhole cameras and engaging in educational activities about gravity and UV rays. Documentary screenings of Journey to Space 3-D will also be available in the center’s four-story theater, exploring NASA’s Space Shuttle program and other space-related topics.
Kentucky Science Center CEO Mike Norman is excited about hosting this event and engaging with guests from the region while sharing knowledge about the science behind the eclipse. The event is made possible in part by a NASA Kentucky Space Grant. The Kentucky Science Center is located at 727 W. Main Street and is open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., making it an ideal destination for visitors looking for educational and interactive experiences related to science and space exploration.
